  11.  @jamesnoonan9302  [I'll explain from my perspective: My first comment was regarding how she was just trying to get her 15 minutes of fame, by doing something that would draw attention from the media, and wasn't a real effort to fight for any cause, because 1) it is well known phrase that has been used for quite some time. 2) the First Nations protestors sometimes carry signs with similar phrases 3) This was a basketball game, and she is there to do her job in singing the anthem, but because the spotlight was on her she wanted to keep it on her longer, by deliberately doing something controversial. I think it was more in line with things like what Colin Kaepernick did in the NFL by kneeling (which he was largely criticized for and payed a price for, as he was not included in the NFL for much longer although he was just a few years from being a pretty talented qb who went to the Superbowl, and I followed football very closely back then and he was still considered a low tear starting qb in the NFL, and QBs are very hard to find, so it is not normal to pass on someone talented enough to play the position.), so I think she was playing more to that type of crowd, than actually trying to fight for land rights that may not have been honored by the government. Also she is not suffering for doing this, so it doesn't seem like a legit protest, she is getting a little extra spotlight, and may be able to carry some fame just for being 'the girl who did that'. I watch news in Canada and I knew they love these kinds of stories, it is not like in the USA.] And I didn't disagree with any of this, nor was I trying to refute any of it. [Then yes I did have you confused with an ongoing argument I was having and reacted a little more than would be considered normal, because you were using a similar type of tactic someone else was using in another argument.] This certainly makes more sense. As for my "tactics".. if you say so. [I still don't know what you mean by "very Canadian indeed, a Celebrity no one has heard of". I don't know who she is, but I'm sure some people do, because she was chosen to sing the anthem.] No, they often pick someone local with the right pedigree. I assure you most Canadians have never heard of this person until now. [I'm not totally sure if you were using more of a joking tone when you said "very Canadian indeed", but because of the other argument, I did not even consider the tone, I just figured someone was still going very hard with prejudice.] There was indeed prejudice in my comment. The utter contempt with which our Canadian elites, promote talentless virtue signalers which was on full display. If you're somehow implying prejudice on any other basis, then you've misjudged me on that score. [I can't quite say "no harm, no foul" though, because I'm still not sure what you mean by this, and your other statement about Canada syphoning resources from talented artists. I'm not sure what type of instances you are referring to, because I know of no stories off the top of my head where this has happened.] Well if you're not familiar with the space, it doesn't always get a lot of attention. But sometimes artists will speak out and then you find out what the real deal is. The Canadian content guardians are a corrupt joke.
