  1. The first lady said she felt like a spectacle, not skeptical. She felt like an object that people watched. It's funny that she thought Japanese shouldn't have dreads. Why should Black Americans have them? Dreads have been around for a long time, way before the USA was even a country.

  2.  @charmainej4820  So... Someone who's probably never even been to Africa, who speaks English fluently, should have dreadlocks, but someone else shouldn't? And, yes, people have had them in India for a long time. Are you saying that Japanese shouldn't be allowed to have them? If so, why? Does that American lady have any more right to have a certain hairstyle than anyone in Japan?

  4.  @charmainej4820  It's likely that her ancestors were slaves, but we don't know that. Anyway, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about her idea that SHE can wear dreadlocks, while Japanese shouldn't. You say you don't mind if Asians have that hairstyle. So, why do you think a Japanese can have that hairstyle, but a European can't?

  5.  @charmainej4820 Why should a European never have a certain hairstyle? Should people of African ancestry not be allowed to straighten their hair? What about dying it? Anyway, whether you like it or not, it will continue. Europeans get to have any kind of hairstyle they want.
