  8. Yeah these companies have become far too big and monopolistic. By the very nature of social networks, with each user that join a the network increases its utility exponentially. So when you have pretty much all the users in your platform it becomes extremely dificult for others to compete as they cannot provide that immense value that has essentially been captured. Users don't have much choice either, because if they leave they lose their connections in the network. So... yeah. Something should be done, maybe through increasing the interoperability so that other providers can craft their own experiences and compete while people get greater choice without losing their connections.
