I can see a massive cover up coming
48
Why not claim on the Car Park insurers as you paid a charge, or do they exempt themselves for fires now?why should people be liable for a car fire not started by them? The Insurance ombudsman should be now involved, they will not be wealthy now as everyone will personally sue!!
24
Your car will be “immobile” hence that new “ kill” switches mandatory !!
19
Wait until all their batteries start to fail, they will just mass scrap heaps
6
These “fires” will become common place as they are in China, wonder if the batteries are imported from that same country to save costs, do the majority come unmarked, the duty of the seller will be to declare the country of this import everyone will not want an electric car parked next to them!!
6
I thought diesel required a type of electric coil to pre-warm the diesel to ignite in an engine, These burn-out quickly but never catch fire
6
What do you do when your Insurance Company decides to terminate your cover as is happening now?
5
Now that insurer is on of class action lawsuits/possible bankruptcy
5
Never ever buy a “mikfloat”
5
There will be a massive gridlock, car parks full of potential fire-throwers, it takes only ONE to cause inferno to rip through everything—R.I.P. EV!!
5
Grapheme will be puvjdf up by road tyres and spread in the atmosphere
4
Imagine owning a caravan now in Wales and could lose your licence over the weekend
4
The insurance costs would be in the millions if it hit people
3
imagine using a leased battery then running into a pot/hole which smashed the bottom?
3
So what do the people do now, learn to swim or get a rubber dingy!
3
With nothing left how to prove anything
3
Censorship by those You Tube censors who have still not learned their lesson but Trump will root then all out and many could be in prison
3
I wonder how many Councillors own an ev? Do they park these in the council car parks or possibly underground, how much would it take to burn down your Town Hall to please them?
3
How can they remove them from trust-pilot?
3
Wait until they start a car chase when the EV was not charged fully
3
When you mentioned NGO’s you said it all!
3
More building on green belt equals more floods
3
This is down to the police being not interested in doing ANYTHING!!!
3
The next will be class action lawsuits for people tripping over those charging cables
3
Will any insurance company pay out for your homes burning down?
2
When will there be a notice thst insurance companies will refuse house insurance to EV owner!
2
Some one might carry this through though!!
2
The EV’s are going to be unsellable soon as well as being uninsurable? What happens to them, masses if 2nd hand cars, who wants to buy a potential bank a/c killer?
2
All getting the Biden style %’s
2
Now a sea is worthless things on wheels, wait intolerable there is a blackout? Are they susceptible to lighting strikes?or other strikes?
2
What happens when an EV burns up?? All those chemicals from that battery!!
2
Has anyone watched the tyre repairer raising their car but now the same could bend the actual battery?
2
Wait until your neighbours EV blows up in their drive/garage starting a fire which could Burn your house down, all this when either or one is on holiday or at work, similar to that Luton fire allegedly starting from an entitled person who had still not been named but you would have been the press front page and castigated, rules for me and not for thee, look at those entitled police, what do they get away with? r
2
That is a potential fire bomb
2
Then the thieves are getting better at “sorting” these issues out
2
Wait until the first EV fire in the channel tunnel
2
The actual insurance costs will have to rise as you will see more and more with degraded, possibly “explosive” leaking batteries, could dealers and engineers refuse to deal with them? imagine only one on a ramp to have its battery explode suddenly, potentially killing that tester and destroying everything, even the buildings and office staff, is it worth the price of the MOT?
2
You should use physical maps instead, how do you insure your cars as you are changing them frequently?
2
If the battery is damaged it is scrap
2
You will not be allowed to take an electric car
2
Why is the registration/ motor type not been exposed along with who dumped their fire stick in the Luton airport car park
2
2024 will be a bumper year for those EV fire/starter and the Insurance Companies who are refusing covers, where are they now keeping them as they are not road-worthy? Imagine if you live next door to one! Will my house be burned down? House Insurances will have an EV fire not covered next!!
2
The ombudsman has to be involved now!!
2
Add the cost if your car burns down your house but are you then insured!?!
2
That’s if the cable had not been robbed
2
Wait until the used EV’s start with exploding batteries!!?
2
So how quick will modified sports cars be declared illegal, how about replacing the alloy wheels, Will that bd illegal even after you have informed your insurance company but nobody has explained how replacing the EV battery will be acceptable to ANY insurer, it only takes ONE! cell to fail then WHOOSH!!The End!
2
These are now stuffed as their 2nd hand EV is worthless, his many bumps has battery taken, going over ONE large pothole? Imagine all those batteries being jolted, solder joints broken then friction then exploding!!’
2
Because it tells the people that they cannot have what they want but what the council wanted
2
It just allows a blanket imposition of 30mph and 40mph to 20mph,what about pedal cyclist who can easily exceed this?
