I don't know how aircraft carrier catapults work. He wasn't necessarily wrong. The steam is obvious has the same source as the engines which run from radioactive rods boiling water which turns turbines.

@dex6147 It's because Idiocracy was given a very limited release with no advertising. If you release a movie to two theaters nationwide, it's not going to be a box office success.

@joshwheaton5571 I think everyone knows that. The 19th century steam engines were powered by coal, whereas the aircraft carrier uses uranium or plutonium rods.
