What's ironic is that she was considered a top tier candidate by the establishment because she checked all the right boxes: Democrat insider, Senator from a Democrat state, woman, "person of color" (I hate that lame progressive variation of the segregation era, "colored person"). But people didn't like her personality and what she had to say (Doesn't that sound familiar).

  2.  Jeff Oliver  "Colored person" was used by people of my grandparents generation (born pre ww2). It referred to anyone who wasn't white, or primarily light skinned blacks. It was used to distinguish them as social status between whites and dark blacks. Progressives just made a minor grammatical change.
