  1. I don't own a fire arm, neither do I fully know the existing fire arm laws in the US, but can suggest the following. When someone buys a fire arm they should first get certified in the laws that allows ownership and show proficiency in taking care and handling a fire arm safely, as in getting a vehicle driving license. They should also pass a psychological evaluation before getting a license. This license conditions should be re-evaluated every 3 or 5 years and each time someone wants to buy a new fire arm, irrespective if they already have a license for a previous fire arm.

  2. Another idea is to imbed a tracker chip in the handle of each fire arm manufactured, that can set off an alarm if it goes in the vicinity of a place like a school, church, shopping center.... basically where people gathers in groups.
