I still have my income from the military, so I don't feel the same pressure that other full time YouTubers have to spam referral links and pump out fluff videos to load with ads.   2. I'm going to continue to wait until early July once 2nd quarter earnings reports are given from the major companies. It could keep going up in the mean time, but there could also be a massive drop in July. I feel like there is more to gain by holding cash right now.

  4. No, you can not. If you leave a stock and re-enter it within a 30 day period, you can't claim any losses on your taxes. Your cost basis goes back to your original purchase price. You must change the stock.

  5. If you are buy and hold for the long term, then you can ignore all of this, haha. I'm definitely making this more complicated on myself by trying to time the market. I am learning a lot... but it's all very frustrating.

  6. Hey Casey! The growth of the US stock market and US economy has always been exponential. The past looks tiny because we look at it on a linear scale, but it needs to be shown on a logarithmic scale to make sense over time. Google image search "S&P 500 log scale" and you'll see the US stock market has been growing at the same exponential rate over time.

  7. I put ads in every 5-6 minutes. Lots of YouTubers are way worse and do every 2-3 minutes. I would make 2x/3x less without midroll ads. Additionally, the YouTube algorithm will promote my video and recommend it to people less if I don't have midroll ads. If YouTube makes less money off my video, then it will promote other channel's videos that does make it more money. I try to be balanced and I don't spam people with referral links (WeBull) and I don't push shady companies that have offered me sponsorships. A skippable 5 second ad is the price of my time and free content. You can also pay $12 a month for YouTube Premium and then never see an ad on the platform ever again. Either way, I appreciate your support.
