  1. The counter offensive is ongoing. Both sides will have casualties and it will last for weeks if not months. The fact that Ukraine is on an offensive reflects more poorly on Russia. I'm not sure you are aware or appreciate this but the war is at a stalemate. "with thousands of casualties and barely anything gained" You could say the same thing about Russia in the past 3 months. But you would never say that because youre not interested in geopolitics, youre only interested in shilling blindly for Russia, and thats it. Youre essentially useless

  6. Its a good opportunity to weaken Russia and keep them in a quagmire. A weak russia means a safer Europe and more prosperous world. What Russia have done is a large scale invasion of another country, specifically to conquer land and expand its borders. This hasn't been done for a very long time, perhaps since WW2. Its abhorrent and unacceptable. If Russia is successful, it may encourage other nations to invade smaller neighbors to expand its borders, this is a threat to world security and prosperity. Also Russia's goal isnt to stop at Ukraine but to conquer Moldova, Belarus and parts of Poland. If they can be weakened then they cant move eastward. The US understands Russia's aspirations for 20 years and Russia at every turn would deny they have any ambition to move eastward into europe but they have finally made their move. Its the very reason why NATO exists
