Yes the AZ vaccine kills about 1 in a million, mostly female below 40. Paracetamol overdoses kill about 20 people a year in Australia. Traffic accidents kill hundreds etc. etc. No vaccine is 100% safe, just like no drug is 100% safe , it's impossible, but the risk return is worth it with AZ for older people less effected by the side effects and so far no evidence that Pfizer is particularly unsafe for any group and it's now 6 months so if it was problematic should have shown up by now.

@JELmusic Yes free choice if you accept you can't do certain things like be a healthcare worker or in the military or any other job or place it's required or international travel, this principle has been around for decades.

@JELmusic Talk about fearful, look in the mirror regarding something that has a one in a million chance of killing you. If you're scared of getting a vaccine you are the scaredy cat. For those over 70 the risk of death is about 5%, that's not the flu. We don't actually have data on the risk of dying from the flu because case numbers have never been established, but the risk of dying from the flu is about 10% of that of covid 19 based on those tested only, you only get tested if there is a reason which usually means you are very sick. Anyway you keep living in your own fear if you so chose and think it's some conspiracy theory that's your choice but better just have the vaccine and take that risk which is far smaller than other risks you are required to take just to have a regular job. Best of luck and I encourage you to calm down and put your fears into perspective. Take care.

@JELmusic You do realize how vaccines work right. These particular vaccines are about 90% effective at preventing death however if everyone is vaccinated it stops the spread. The risk of you killing someone at work by infecting them is 1000 times more likely than you being killed by the vaccine should vaccination rates not be high enough. You are fortunate to live in a time when vaccination rates are high and you can be unvaccinated, obviously you haven't been in the military and your travels haven't required any vaccinations, that's great for you. Previously the government required males of a certain age to be sent to possibly die in an involuntary manner, called conscription or draft. You live in a society so you need to accept the vast majority decision for the common good, go pick fruit or something where it's likely you will never need a vaccine, society can't stop for the small minority.

@JELmusic yes 1 in a million have to die or hide away so the rest of us can get on with it without thousands dieing so you have the right to infect, if enough cooperate you can still be Antivax because others protect you.
1
@JELmusic You are happy watching thousands die because they fit your Antivax narrative, I don't know which country you are from but you in delight right now that your mob is in control of the state of Idaho USA, I accept you are scared but killing of thousands of people just so you can be happy is really bad . In the end the more that take the vaccines the less mandates, the US has more mandates than Australia anyway so don't know why you said Australia is further from your ideology, maybe you live in NSW where the toughest mandates currently exist.

@JELmusic Huh, you don't lack intelligence, you do know that the right to infect kills far more, 2 million have died due to this very policy in European WHO region and PAHO Pan-American Health Organization region, no quarantine infect who you want travel was very important in those regions. In Australia a part of the Western Pacific region of WHO deaths are less than 10% of those other regions on a per capita basis. You should accept until vaccination rates are high enough restrictions will exist. If you are truly as scared as you indicate as in have a phobia that is mentally getting a vaccine terrifies you so much , yes a mental condition maybe you can get an exemption. The risks you take traveling to and from work are far more dangerous than any of the authorized vaccines. From the way you talk I think you understand that your fear is not rational but you still can't get over it. Take care, don't live in fear and just accept certain restrictions if your fear of the vaccine is so great until enough vaccinated. If I was in your situation I would want everyone to get vaccinated so I don't have to. You do understand me I believe and you have seen the results of different policies in different WHO regions. Western Pacific WHO region has done the best by a country mile and happy I live here.

@JELmusic I want people to have a choice by the way unless they work in a critical area where it needs to be compulsory no matter what, healthcare and military it needs to be compulsory. The problem is a certain vaccination rate is required, I actually hope you on a personal level get your way and the rest of us who are able to as in don't actually have a condition, phobia or other preventing us from getting it, get the vaccine. I am half vaccinated so far and happy that after my second shot I contribute to you having a lower likelihood of needing to be vaccinated. I took the vaccine for 2 reasons, one is it should make travel easier and the other for my community. I already had the horrible virus most likely over a year ago, it didn't kill me obviously so means if I got infected again then unlikely it would kill me because of previous infection. Best of luck and I hope you calm down .

@JELmusic Well, I don't know which country you are in but if it's Australia all evidence points to very high voluntary vaccination rates, Victoria already up to 89% of over 70s with a first dose and that number will probably rise after those waiting for Pfizer get their chance. If you are in the US mandates will be more and go for longer, it's just a factor of the amount of resistance. You'll be ok.

@JELmusic The virus is killing people, if you're dead you can't work, you wouldn't disagree with that simple argument would you? So literally tens or hundreds of thousands of people in the US can't work now due to death, in Australia that number is in the 10s or possibly over 100, have to remember Australia hasn't had significant deaths below 70.

Those people aren't conservative.
