@nomad1980 "I don't know how you get the idea that European armies are weak." Not weak so much as incapable of victory on their own.

@ryanschrimpf8163 We Canadians spent 1/10th of the 20th century at war a long, long way from home because Europe fell short.

@nomad1980 That would explain the armies fighting it out around the globe, like in Africa for instance. The World Wars were not soe "inter-familial squabbles" They were planetary disasters originating with collapses of the European culture that was exported globally. My father flew patrols in the Indian Ocean. There were German U Boats there.

@nomad1980 Actually, during the Seven Years War between France and Great Britain, North America was a major battleground .. the largest but not the only one during what was quite literally a world war fought around the globe. The ultimate outcome of the Seven Years was in North America was the end of French power there and in stages, the creation of two of the G7 countries. "As a small note, it also took you quite a long time to end the "war" with the Danes over Hans Islands" The absurdity of that is Canada doesn't need another square kilometer of frozen rock as we already have a lot of that. The really absurd part is that here we have the very last land grab in the Americas by a European Monarchy. Talk about anachronistic. Denmark has no business laying claim to a square centimeter of anything in this hemisphere in the 21st century. Comic opera ...
