America is barely a democracy, anymore. It is telling how dysfunctional their political system is in that over the last 250 years, new democracies have not copied their system. Some Latin American countries did more or less and they all lapse into dictatorship quite frequently.

We've already seen China's peace proposal: "Ukraine stop fighting."
131
@kr540ime3 NATO is a defensive alliance. NATO is not "advancing" towards Russia. The various peoples around Russia that have been raped, plundered and occupied by Russia in the past are desperate for that to not happen again, so they join the defensive alliance called NATO, That is only a threat to Russia If the Russians plan to invade and subjugate those lands again and that appears to be Russia's intention.

I'm glad that the Swedes are selling some Gripens. Orban is an opportunistic schmuck.
97
"Nuclear weapons are a means of restoring Russia's former glory" This is how the Planet off the Apes comes about.
96
Russia is militarily too weak to retaliate against anyone, now. The wheels have fallen off their army. It was mighty on paper.
91
@heliang87 So, if that is true, why haven't they done so over the last 80 years? They haven't because they don't want to. You were educated by comic books.
67
@throughput6674 That was granted to the Soviet Union, not to the Russian Federation. In that case, Ukraine has as much right to the seat as Russia does.
60
I am not sure why Russia hasn't been tossed out of the UN Security Council, yet as they hold the UN in such low regard.
57
This is an exact repeat of what was happening in Newfoundland Canada fifty years ago. Fleets of Russian trawlers, each one bristling with antenna covering the whole radio spectrum and even carrying satellite uplink dishes to "fish" were vacuuming the Grand Banks clean. Newfoundland's shipyards were also getting the maintenance work on the Russian mother ships that led their fleets of trawlers. Fish are gone, now.
48
The Russians are so clumsy about these theatrical demonstrations that no one but the Russian public buy into them, anymore.
41
@soothingsaturations9059 "Then there should be no issue with NATO paying their bills, I do." To whom do they pay their bills? To the USA? Is that the way the alliance s structured or is that the way that Donald Trump thinks the alliance works?.It's not a Trump golf course and your dues are due now payable to America.
32
@rafaelgonzalez562 The Ukrainians have a democracy. It's the race-based authoritarian dictatorship that wants to conquer all of her neighbours Russia that is the very definition of fascism.
31
@MRJHAYL "Russians knew NATO can't attack their warships, do you know why?" The NATO anti-ship missiles go through one rusty side and out the other because the Russian hulls aren't substantial enough to set them off?
30
We tried to be Afghanistan's friend but in the end, you welcomed the Taliban back with open arms. If you want friends, you need to be friendly.
29
Ikea's new "Büder Valle" comes in a flat pack with 60,000 upright posts, 3,000 kms of 3 meter high steel mesh, 3,000 kms of razor wire and one (1) Hex Key.
26
"armed sabotage group" as opposed to the unarmed one with a paper shredder.
22
The Russian navy is incapable of controlling the Baltic nor any other body of water. Try to not panic.
22
Why are the Russians and Chinese constantly poking around there, then?
21
Notice that the Russians chose to harass a neutral country that is nearly defenseless. Mother Russia is so glorious.
20
@heliang87 I'm 66 years old and a military veteran. I've been watching this for decades. Stop trying to post with adults until you are ready to do so, Lieutenant.
20
@kfed8226 That may be but they didn't copy the wicky-wacky American system of governance.that is so dysfunctional now, they can't even pass simple budgets, anymore. High minded, ideal constitutions do not amount to a system of governance. What they did lead to in both Japan and Germany are stable democracies, unlike the United States. You must be an American, by the way. No one else would have made that mistake.
17
@samueljr.2026 ... of what? ... defending his people from a genocidal invader?
17
We all need to keep sending them these simple to use, one man weapons.
17
@enzy6434 Most of you are too young to remember but way, way back during the Yom Kippur War in 1973, hand-held anti tank rockets defeated a very powerful Syrian tank attack.
17
Call out the Coast Guards, Rescue and Lifeboat services! The Russian Fleet is at sea, again! Everybody get ready to rescue them from the drink.
16
They all have the D.T.s.
15
@jimmybaldbird3853 It's a failing republic.
14
Maybe, Serbia needs to stop acting like a bully and join the modern world.
14
@hakiza-technologyltd.8198 " stop dreaming" Speaking of dreaming, how are Russia's war aims going?
13
@Jole30 Serbia has the right to commit genocides? Ohhh, not them
13
@zelenskyy-the-blackmailerh5920 "breakaway regions" i.e. Ukrainian territory.
13
@goodmanaustin9415 You can never run out of things to accuse Russia of.
12
The traditional way that Argentine leaders deflect away from Argentinian problems is to say that all will be well and Argentina will be great again when the Malvinas are Argentinian. Argentinian victimhood is an old way of dodging responsibility. Wait for it to happen, again.
12
Far too much is wrong with Russia.
12
Wouldn't it be cool if Putin released whatever blackmail evidence he has on Donald Trump as another disrupter?
12
This is a massive strategic error on Putin's part. The Germans rapidly find alternate sources of gas but Russia lacks the infrastructure to simply switch customers in a hurry. If the Chinese become too reliant on Russian gas in the future, that becomes an existential threat to a Russia that wanted to take another country's existence away.
11
Russian ICBMs are suddenly a new threat? I'm 67 years old and Russian ICBMs have been a threat to my existence since I was two years old.
11
They ran out. Iran supplies them, now.
11
@shinji1264 "shutup so is the us and they actually maintain there" Does this actually mean anything anywhere on this planet?
11
Russia's gotcha. Here in Canada, there is plenty of natural gas for export but all of it is currently exported to the US. The infrastructure doesn't exist yet for exports to Europe .They are possible but not right away. This Russian blackmail should have been anticipated. Your German leadership has let you down.
11
They also evacuate towns without looting (and no, there are no soldiers with automatic weapons patrolling) Years ago, my parents and 750,000 other were evacuated from a place called Mississauga when a train load of chlorine wrecked nearby. There was not one single case of looting, even though the police were really thin on the ground.
10
@ToneyCrimson There are like 40 million people in Canada (1/8th the population of the US). You need to stop sniffing that stuff.
10
" completely surrounding Russia " You really need to invest in a map.
10
@SubvertTheState I haven't encountered a single one with an "irrefutable" argument. Lies are not arguments. Diabolical, ain't it, Doug?
10
@thalentekhuluse2829 "Unless CIA nor NATO pays you" NATO isn't a "thing" with an office that pays people. You Russians don't seem to grasp what NATO is. A defensive alliance of 32 like minded countries is so so far from Russia's historic experience. Imagine having 32 friends in your world.
9
@alexlo7708 Good luck, Wolf Warrior.
9
@loschekell Well, stop the "Freedom and "Liberty" bullshyte, then. The rest of the world is sick to death of hearing the hollow boasts.
8
@nenadmitrovic3469 "China contract, US taking by force" So, Taiwan's safe then because an Internet troll says it's so.
8
It's anecdotal but here in Canada where all but about 10% of the eligible population has been vaccinated, the case rate has dropped off precipitously and those getting sick from the virus are almost all not vaccinated. It is not "peer review science" but rather common sense that there is a connection between the two considering the rationale for getting vaccinated in the first place.
