@Jeff Spicolli Yes LNG exports are a good idea but I doubt that pumping it over "the hump"i n Canadian geography to export it from the East Coast will pay. Seasonal traffic out of Churchill make a lot more sense. What everyone is missing about Hydrogen is that it isn't necessarily generated by "windmills". That was the German interviewer's take. It is a way of exporting Hydro Quebec's vast electrical output. That'll get Alberta hopping mad!

@Jeff Spicolli Yup. They'll be solved eventually. Hydrogen might become irrelevant overnight if fusion is finally made to work. Anyway you cut it, the planet is determined to get off of fossil fuels and it will happen, eventually.

@Jeff Spicolli There is no LNG travelling up the St. Lawrence. Ontario and Quebec burn natural gas from the Trans Canada pipeline. You are confusing it with crude oil from the Gulf of Mexico, Arabian Gulf, Venezuela, Mexico, England, Norway, Iran, Africa, Russia and anywhere else where oil is produced. Those are mercantile decisions made in the oil towers in Calgary by the petroleum companies who have determined it is more profitable to float oil across the ocean than to pump it from Leduc.Sorry, no LNG there, cousin.

@Jeff Spicolli No, they're not. Proposals have been made in recent years to bring Aberta oil to the East. Ontario and Quebec already get Alberta gas. Kitimat is the only LNG terminal going and until February, there wasn't much export potential across the Atlantic. Don't get me wrong. I wish there were but it ain't going to happen by the route you have in mind. How about Churchill? Contrary to old prairie plore, it can be reached for enough of the year to have made it a viable shipping post for grain (until trans-Atlantic demand was replaced by Pacific Rim trade) since WWII. It'll give Churchill a new lease on life, make it a lot easier to move with the sea closer and save a pile of money. It doesn't have to run 12 months of the year. The Europeans can store it at their end. They are doing that right now, in fact.
