This is a massive strategic error on Putin's part. The Germans rapidly find alternate sources of gas but Russia lacks the infrastructure to simply switch customers in a hurry. If the Chinese become too reliant on Russian gas in the future, that becomes an existential threat to a Russia that wanted to take another country's existence away.

There is little infrastructure in place to do that. Your new colonial masters in Russia will need a decade or more to sell as much oil and gas to it's new possession India as they have to Western Europe.

@Memovox How do you know it's overpriced? It's World priced. Russia is trying to dump right now to keep their industry ticking over but they're not making much money at it.
