  1. It's idiotic comparing Covid to the Spanish fFu. We've intervened enormously in the progress of the Covid epidemic, curtailing human movement for a time, creating intelligent public health strategies and vaccinating nearly half the planet by now. All these measures have kept Covid deaths to something like 5 million world-wide deaths. Without the intervention, try ten... twenty times that number. They did what they could in 1918-19 but their tool box was nothing like what is available to us now and planetary deaths would have been down in the five million range, back then. Critical thinking ... Why is it so hard too come by in American politics?
