  1. the funny thing was that had nasa done the apollo program 10 years later and they'd have had microprocessors and RAM, the AGC was very advanced but in its own ways a technological dead end as there were technologies on it that wouldn't be replicated for decades such as many multi layer pcbs, I can't recomend enough CuriousMarc's AGC rebuild video series

  2. no both the lunar module and the csm used an AGC which had rope and core memory. the lunar module even had a simplified backup computer to launch and orient the spacecraft if the AGC died for some reason
