  1. that's pretty much the entirity of semiconductor manufacturing though. the actual production is more than anything else almost entirely automated, but the workers monitor or fix the equipment

  2. Having worked in enough manufacturing environments, they will especially if the work is stable, routine, and have good pay. long hours and thus OT are something that either people love or loath, and the ones that hate it find their way out.
