  1. the problem is with letting the market place decide is china would have had more of a share of chip manufacturing, AMD and Intel both tried to sell near current designs to chinese companies in the past 10 years, only to be shut down by the government. throwing taxes at the issue isn't helpful I agree, but the market ostensibly hasn't been doing the west any favors by giving authoritarian states large control over our economies

  3. the thing is china has been since day 1, blacklisting US companies by forced tech transfer, manditory chinese ownership, and straight up stealing entire companies (ARM China)
