  1. huh, i think the first design was maybe better fitting with today's understandings of what cities should be. the smaller blocks would have allowed denser city planning, and maybe better use of the sprawl

  2. in some places the soviets weren't blisteringly incompetent. the western (especially western US) sprawl model has put workers on ever increasing commutes and made public transport impractical to implement

  4. I'm deeply sceptical about city states given that they exist today as tax havens and Russia has shown partially how much damage a nation state could do to another nation let alone a city state with asymetric cyber warfare
