  1. the sad part is the 1619 project didn't really do anything new or massive, they just brought forward what was footnotes, expanded on what was always minor incidents, and just put out a larger more detailed picture of slavery than most people have cared to hear. I can understand how someone might be ignorant of the worst parts of it, but I don't understand how those people can be ignorant of the country having racism
