  1. Seems like this in concept is great but since its basically no better than a revolver, it isn't really worth it when everybody and their mothers had revolvers at that time

  2. pistols in general are harder to build than rifles and smgs because of the size and form constraints. the limiting factor of the time wasn't manufacturing tech (maxim made a working black powder machinegun) it was the ammunition, it was either black powder or unreliable and wonkey, precision mass manufactured ammo just wasn't good enough till after ww1 to make things just work
