Lol when the government deregulated the airline industry, flying went from a thing reserved to the most well off to a thing for the middle class

@EnverHalilHoxha1917 lol you don t know what you are talking about. Check the inflation adjusted prices for the same flights and you can see that with airline deregulations prices plummeted.

@schwarzwolfram7925 ah yes reducing rights violation of those who produce is a sign of failure
2
@wheelhouse15 yes the inflation adjusted price is down a lot. And yes the title of this video should be "flying was better when reserved to the wealthiest, it s a shame so many more people can fly today"

@wheelhouse15 strawman? Yes the inflation adjusted price is as low as I claim and if you want what it included in the 70s, get first class. And you ll even get wifi (which they did not have in the 70s). The fact is that the number of people flying grew faster than the population, so the percentage of people flying grew. What changed for them? What made them decide to fly when they decided not to before? Price. And yes a lot fewer people would be flying if it was as expensive as before. Just because you don t like the conclusions of basic supply and demand doesn t make these basic conclusions wrong.

@wheelhouse15 unfortunatelly there was no full deregulation. And no, not almost everything is cheaper, otherwise we would not need to adjust prices for inflation. We would even need to adjust for falling prices. Again, your ignorance of basic economics is not an argument. And yes, it was basically for the rich. In 1970, 25% flew and about 60% had reported flying once in their life and over 50% of these flights were business flights. In 2022, 44% of the population flew, 90% of the population reported having taken a flight once before and business travels accounted ony for a third of travels. The stats don t lie. When flying was regulated, it was expensive and the priviledge of a few and when it was made freer it became accessible to all. And you can keep complaining about how good it was then. The great thing about the market is that people like you are not in charge. Producers and consumers are in charge. And consumers have deserted expensive carriers to the benefit of the carriers that offer cheap flights with no money wasted on the glitziness you regret.

@dominicfucinari1942 based on stats. Look at the ones I already provided in reply to other comments. Also the information is widely available online. Just Google "us airline prices over time"

More affordable flights proved him wrong ?

It has made flying affordable to the middle class. That s only one example
1
@Boris80b Spirit has a one way ticket priced at $27. Keep lying to yourself that only the upper middle class can afford that. There s no question that prices plummeted after deregulation

@jarynn8156 this chanel would be glad to go back to that if it meant government control was back. They don t care about the truth or the poor or the middle class. They just hate freedom.

Lol yeah the good all times when only the rich could fly. This chanel amazes me with the level of dishonesty it is willing to go to. The facts are that when the government deregulated the industry, prices plummeted and flying became a thing of the middle class and not only the most well off.

Oh no the evil of deregulation that made flying affordable to the masses. And if you were overpaid too bad. Welcome to the real world where you can t coerce people into paying more than you are worth
