Comments by "Quizmaster China" (@QuizmasterLaw) on "How did Schacht's MEFO Bills work? Were they inflationary or not?" video.
The main cause of bubbles isn't inflation, though inflatin contributes to or at least helps to maintain a bubble (=keep it from bursting).

Yay! basically Schacht was juggling AT LEAST the following using various financial instruments including but not limited to MEFO and OEFFA bills. 1) obligations redeemable in gold 2) obligations not redeemable in gold 3) foreign trade (seeking to use paper money for foreign trade where possible reserving gold backed currency for cases where it wasn't, while ALSO engaging in barter aka countertrade of goods for goods) 4) reparation payments (which Hitler at some point surely abrogated) 5) timing of obligations payout (short term versus long term) and 6) interest paymentson obligations (higher or lower rates for longer term or shorter term notes) I've never seen him having had any influence on nazi tax policies, which is surprising to me since tax and public finance are so closely related and he was all over the place on monetary and trade policies, less so as to budgetary and tax policies in declining order of influence. I expect to see flaws in this report.

The great toilet paper shortage was in part a propaganda exercise to prevent hoarding of food. By associating hoarding with literal shit it worked to prevent food shortages. Though, most government economic interventions fail.

@samsonsoturian6013 I'm entirely serious.

@samsonsoturian6013 and yet, so far, none of the doomsaying has in fact happened I don't wonder why, you ought to.

@samsonsoturian6013 You're looking at literally the entire planet and seeing just one location where there was some crazy shopping, which is far, very far, from what was being prevented, namely: food riots. A bunch of idiots expressed their panic buying on toilet paper instead of food. Good.
