  3. Thanks for writing in, Harshit. You are right about voters exceeding members but that's valid in LS elections only. Voters' number gets drastically reduced in assembly elections. Given that the BJP refuses to share state-wise membership data, we can't make any final conclusions. That's why I am only raising questions about why the 64 per cent increase in membership doesn't get reflected in assembly elections.I must concede there are certain elements of inference and deduction in my analysis in the absence of state-wise data.

  4. Possible but unlikely. One would expect a member to be politically and ideologically aligned with the party and therefore, electorally committed, too.

  5. 'Anyways' noted, Sir. I will be mindful in future but some habits take time to go. As for local polls, you are right. I am constrained by the absence of state-wise data and have, therefore, left my analysis inconclusive after throwing up the question about 64 per cent increase not reflecting in votes.

  7. I can't but agree on the larger point. I am just not sure about the BJP's actual membership figure in Bengal. The party refuses to share the data and I must concesde that makes a hole in my analysis. That's why I am limiting it to the point that 64 per cent increase in membership is not getting reflected in assembly elections.
