  1. You are right about the sympathy factor but it doesn't always work. Look at the Boxanagar result where there was sympathy factor and.much.more. That aside, I was looking at this Kerala seat from the BJP's perspective, given the kind of efforts they put in. Otherwise, I do agree with you about the broader picture.

  3. I did but not in this #PoliticallyCorrect show. I did several #PoliticalAdda shows on Manipur but I mostly talked with experts with domain knowledge.Frankly, given that I didn't visit Manipur during this turmoil and depended on my colleagues for second-hand knowledge, I never felt confident of doing my own show on this.But my colleagues at ThePrint didi a brilliant job. I hope you liked their shows.

  5. Agree. I also wonder who scripts their strategy because we don't see one. Even my friends in the party keep guessing and fretting. As for Adhir, well, he is such a loose canon! You have to give it to Gandhis that they decide to promote such leaders. I I think I and you know why but let's not discuss it here.

Thomas Friedman came for Idea Exchange and one of the editors asked him the same question.The man was so clear-headed: "I am what I am because of the NYT. You take the banner away and nobody bothers to know who I am and what I write." In my three-decade career in journalism, I have also learnt that institutions- and my editor-in-chief Shekhar Gupta being a big one- make you and it's never the other way round. So, thank you so much for your good wishes but I think I still have a lot to learn from Shekhar in journalism. To be candid, I can't deny that I felt a bit flattered and happy to read your comment
