Comments by "" (@DKSingh-wf8tn) on "Rahul Gandhi’s impending return as president is a win-win for both Congress and BJP" video.
Two corrections: RG is likely to become Congress president in September 2022, not in 2017, and the data is available for 10 years, not decades. Regret the slips of the tongue.

That's why the timing of the presidential poll is interesting. It's in September, just weeks before elections in Himachal and Gujarat. Anyway, I don't see Rahul losing even if someone contests against him. The Gandhis have got their nominees at every level..

@LatzViz Thank you

Oh, I missed out on that. It's a win for the Congress as it has finally got a road map for organisational elections. Don' know whether it will change much in terms of the party's electoral fortune but there is at least clarity about Rahul's eventual return.

Going by survey data, Manav. No personal opinion here.

Fielding skills! Didn't occur to me. Very apt observation.

Thanks, Soham. Here is my reply to these questions: 1. Arya is a prominent Dalit leader who won the last four consecutive elections in Uttarakhand. So, yes, his return will definitely help the Congress. Many others are trying to come back. Harish Rawat has already declared that he would like a Dalit leader to become the CM but never rule him out of the race. He may be 73 but he won't give up his ambitions so easily. And, yes, the Congress definitely has a fighting chance in Uttarakhand, given strong anti-incumbency against the BJP government but you can always depend on the Congress to squander it away. 2. You are right about 2012 but the BJP has come a long way since then while the Congress' support base has been eroding. I don't see the Congress coming anywhere close to the BJP in the coming elections. The party is in a shambles in UP. 3. I am equally eager to see how the Congress performs in the bypolls in Himachal. It doesn't have any leader with the pan-state appeal now. The results will indicate if the party can hold its ground in Virbhadra's absence. Pratibha Singh should have a good chance, given her background, but I haven't been to the constituency and so it's difficult for me to offer you even an intelligence guess.
