he Brutish Empire wasn't the biggest. That's a popular misconception based on ignorance and hypocrisy. The hypocrisy is in counting land but not waves, when the British admit seas count: "Hail Britannia! Britannia rules the waves!" Well, Iberia ruled more because Felipe II, the Spanish Emperor, shared no ocean with anyone except three seas with Turks (Med. Red & Persian Gulf) whereas the British never had an entire ocean to themselves, always having to share with the French and the Spanish and the Russians and others.

I already see non-free-thinkers calling me a conspiracy theorist as if they're not themselves, when they believe in the theory about the conspiracy by the Black Hand which began World War 1. The British Armada vastly outnumbering the Spanish at Cartagena de Indias was even more absurd a defeat. Felipe II did not allow for Spaniards to chase pirates. He did not allow flexibility. He put an inexperienced man in command, replacing another, and sent them off without finishing preparations, clearly showing he sabotaged Spain because he served another master.

@theteutonking3306 First of all, the Arctic was irrelevant during the Age of Exploration because it was to cold to be worth living in, and it pretty much still is except it has oil and narwhals whose tusks can get you money from the Chinese I guess. Canada was independent much of its history, so it doesn't count as British territory then. And the coastline of Canada in the west is very little since Alaska is of the US of AIDS. The Caribbean alone has much more than the Hudson. Spain had much more than Britain everywhere in the world ocean-wise.
