It is easy to take on debt and even more so with inflation and housing going crazy! I've always lived below my means due to growing up poor. Now I'm 28, earn $112k+, no debt, and over $100k net worth so far. Still can't afford a house out here, but when I can it'll be small and I'll have a roommate.

How lucky, you had nice parents..... I was out since 17. Been buying my own stuff since 10. They wouldn't even get me basic acne face wash.... Anyways lucky you, it's easy AF when you don't have to grow up. In any case I made it, I'm 28 and earn $112k+, no debt and growing net worth. Long story short, don't be high and mighty when you got a free ride.

@paillette2010 27 min wage nationwide does 2 things. Raise price everywhere and kills low income areas away from the coast. Killing the interior. 500k+ incomes need to be taxed heavily. All multi millionaires should be audited every year by the IRS. Common sense. 27 can assure you middle class in middle states. Why is it unreasonable that minimum wage be just that? An entry level job that you grow out of. It pushes companies to not hire young or uneducated workers. Higher min wage means higher requirements to get the job thus killing "entry level" jobs. Think past your emotions to logic.

Yeah, the trades are where its at if not a good college degree. Most degrees suck. Trades are always a good option. It was my second choice. Did college and now at 28 earn $112k+, no debt. We might make the same but I work from home, killer benefits, and will continue to easily grow in income due to my career vs the trades. But many trades people make 100k easily.

@Daniel-gs9eh their job was until 18. Even then parents can do a terrible job. Again be lucky but shut it with your "advice". It's very hypocritical.

No absolutely not! It's called minimum wage. It's not a middle class wage. If you still earn min wage after a few years, you're the problem. People need to struggle a bit and grow to earn better wages. Yeah you can't afford a 1 bed alone, so get a roommate. Spoiled group.

@DMH52 yeah I am in a densely pop city here in SoCal. If it wasn't for my family, I'd move since it's a remote job. Eventually I'll find something. Unfortunately even in the ghetto a small 2bed home is 600k.... including repairs.....

@davadh big city here in SoCal. A small 2bed home in the ghetto needing repairs is 600k+. At this point I'ma just wait and see. Give it a few years and if nothing changes, gonna move.

@two-sense trades are always good. I'm not a data input dude that can be easily replaced. The work I do involves humans and managing expectations. I guarantee you, everything i do and work towards is to make sure I can't get replaced. Another reason I chose computer science and manage tech.

Yup, I'm 28 and earn $112k+. Growing up poor i always thought 100k was magical. Nope. It's comfortable but not getting ahead in this economy and I live below my means. It's gotta be super tough for the rest making less. Somethings gonna give and it's not gonna be pretty.
