Friendly reminder that regardless of this, the Chromium monoculture is a very bad thing and you should use Firefox-based forks only to combat it. No Brave, Edge, or Opera.

@aac74 And that's 21% too much.
23
@TheObsesedAnimeFreaks No, do you just not understand what a monoculture is?
14
@omargodinez7256 That analogy doesn't work. Physics dictates the shape of wheels. Browsers aren't scraping pavement at high speeds.

No one cares.
7
@TheObsesedAnimeFreaks A hard fork is not a new project. The vast majority of the code base is the same, particularly the Chromium engines.
6
@aakasoto Shitting on someone isn't caring.
4
@theclassicalhomeopath and that's why my comment, the top comment, is about the toxicity of a monoculture of Chromium.
3
@elcugo Stupid analogy.
3
@donaldturnbull it means buy a real computer.
2
@conundrum2u Did you miss "forks" for some weird reading comprehension reason?
2
@beaten_tech No, Internet Explorer is why. Embrace, extend, extinguish.
2
@beaten_tech No, monoculture vs. standards.
2
@cookiemonster208 Chrome is the Internet Explorer of the modern era. In a monoculture, standards only have one implementation that matters. The implementation dictates the standards instead of the other way around. That's why Internet Explorer forced so many people who used Macs, UNIX, or Linux into using Windows to be able to use the web despite plenty of other implementations existing.

@cookiemonster208 YouTube keeps censoring my reply so unless you hop onto my Telegram I guess you never will. Good luck.

@mariotime7821 Waterfox is awesome. Just admit you're lazy.
2
@conundrum2u Waterfox, hello?
2
@_unknown_guy No, it's not. Windows is a near-monoculture. Linux is not. Try being older than 8 next time.
2
@_unknown_guy "BSD, Darwin, macOS, Haiku, Illumos, SerenityOS, Redox, and VxWorks don't exist. Linux is totally a monoculture." - You, an idiot.
2
@mariotime7821 That's not what a monoculture is.
2
@mariotime7821 I don't know how someone can be so good at being so consistently wrong about everything. It's amazing.
2
@___Hermitage Except it's not. And use Waterfox, not Firefox.

2
@jsgdk That's only because you haven't used Waterfox with uBO

@beaten_tech No, it's because one browser doesn't test standards, it defines them even if it's against them. Look up how Internet Explorer made non-Windows platforms unable to properly use a large chunk of websites globally.

@yonderalt2662 What features do you need that you are unable to find in Firefox?
