Skyjuice70 we are talking national security , not a library card.. in the business world no ex employees hold onto security clearance from their previous employer.. the whole concept of allowing this to happen in government is just ludicrous. For those that are looking to renter in to a government role requiring security clearance then they can have their security clearance reinvoked and fast tracked as backgrounds checks have already been done, however further checks would be required to cover the time in between government service

Amie Thompson I agree, however there must be accountability when sharing government secrets and these retired people should be re vetted by intelligence agencies during their period of absence from government to ensure they are still eligible for a security clearance for the level of security required.

  4. Skyjuice70 . You don’t have to know about the inner workings of security clearances to know that when you are no longer at an organisation, then still having a security clearance to that organisation is absolutely ludicrous.
