  2. giggergigger1 wrong! asylum seekers who present at border control are assessed and children are not separated . If their claim is deemed as legitimate then they are granted refugee status., the ones who try to enter illegally obviously aren’t seeking asylum and when caught they are treated as illegal aliens and just like any other domestic criminals their kids are separated because kids are don’t get incarcerated for their parents criminal act.

Those families who present themselves legally for an asylum claim are not separated while their claim is being processed and if rejected the whole family is deported.. it is only those illegally entering the country who are treated just like anyone else who breaks the law in the US and if they have a family , the kids are separated just like any US citizen who breaks the law.
