Tanks aren't the correct machines for riot control / civilians. Turkey has an abundance of vehicle mounted water canon & riot police, backed up with other officers equipped with riot guns to fire tear gas. Bridges are not strategic places to put Tanks. They can easily be picked off by anti-tank missiles fired by jets with minimum risk. Therefor it was a false coup.

If the "coup" perpetrators didn't have control over police the whole thing was ridiculous & in this case of no support, how is it 60,000 people have to be arrested & thrown out of their jobs? No doubt "intelligence" warned a coup was being talked about - so somebody commanded it to "bring it on" with all those military age men ready to storm the bridge? Why put new recruits on a bridge?
