I've had groups like that second one, where I got so excited, and confident, it ruined subsequent groups. This one time I was out shooting my brother-in-law's Makarov, and nailed the target right on the nose. First shot, if it wasn't a humanoid bust sillhouette, I would have hit the bull's eye, and then to be a smartass, I tried to follow-up with the Martin Rigg's "Have a Nice Day," only I didn't say anything when I saw the rest of the group. Let's just say it was not even close. Confidence is a good thing, but too much Oxygen can still kill you.

The Makarov (PMM) is one of those guns I just love, because the grip snuggles into my hand, and makes itself at home. No, it's not a MoA tack driver, with a bipod. It's a Soviet milsurp pistol. But it fits so perfectly, my hand gives it a big hug, and they get along fine. So, I naturally shoot it much better than objectively much more accurate guns. That grip-weld, that wedding between the gun, and shooter can not be over-stated. I can't tell you how often i have to explain it to Americans, when they ask the FAQ "What're you carrying that old piece of shit for?" With a 1911 on their hip.
