  1. Let's ignore the original movie, and focus on the original story. A mermaid could be black (wouldn't be excepted nicely, though), afopted princes were a thing (when the queen couldn't give birth), but the story is Danish, so we should assume it happens in Denmark (also, Erik was indeed a name of few Danish kings). In this case black queen is a huge no no. It is even worse than Latin snowhite, cause her skin color is somewhat white (the queen is Israeli,vdo I guess they went to less white snowhite as a whole). Danish are really bright, and a black person just doesn't fit
