Singapore Petrol 95 soar to $2.80/litre, Malaysia at $0.60 per litre and Octane 97 at just $0.90. Example COE, sky high hardly affordable 99 years leasehold apartment while most Malaysian are staying in landed properties and No COE and No GST regardless of their weaker currency. Their Petrol are cheaper, they buy $4 chicken and you buy $12 same chicken. Malaysia no GST and major surgery at ZERO $ compare to Mandatory Medishield and still must pay. Hospital 1 night easily $1500 per day and claimed ZERO dollar [see fine print on deductibles]. Time for Change in 2025.

[Update] According to a small store Lady Boss today [21/8], she said the Super Value 600g bread had increase to $2.30 since 1 Aug 2023, up from $1.10. That is 100.9% of increase which is almost X2 double the price. These days $50 almost cannot buy anything. No Thanks to the MIW, the Sunshine Bread has increased from normally $3.30 to I noticed at $3.90, a whopping $0.60 cents increase or 18.18% increase which can be attributed to the multiplying effects of the recent GST hike of 1%. [Add: One commenter highlighted to me that the Super Value 600g bread has increased from $1.10 to $1.70. That is 54.5% increase which is almost double the price] So the Pertinent Question is; When the MIW said GST Hike will not hurt the poor, were they basing on the 1% hike OR the Overall multiplying effect on the Price? These days, its getting harder to trust anything they say.
