@nathanh1582 I fully understand what you are saying, and you are still wrong. Do many Christians try to live up to the more positive moral tenets of their faith? Of course, and I know plenty of people deluded by their general belief in Christianity who are nice and friendly people. The religion has many very specific expectations and justifications for suppressing, and even killing those who disagree with "God" and God's laws as ordained by ancient sociopaths in a desert. Whether you like it or not, the various political leaders of the early middle ages until the 19th century ( a long history of violence and crime) who authorized the horrors and destruction, were designated as representatives of Christianity. They were the proud faces of it. You do not get confronted with the historical truth of the past, dislike it, and then excommunicate those who disagree with your notion of "what would Jesus have done". Your very statement reveals the lack of accountability so prevalent among Christian apologists. The simple truth is that Christianity is a cult of ignorance, appropriation, subversion, dangerous exploitation of natural resources, and narcissism. A dangerous cult that was terrible for indigenous Europeans and others.
