We agree that hard disks are less and less common, but we don't believe they are entirely useless.
Last we checked, AWS still offers HDDs that are much cheaper than SSDs, and they are, and we quote AWS, "ideal for frequently accessed, throughput-intensive workloads with large datasets and large I/O sizes, such as MapReduce, Kafka, log processing, data warehouse, and ETL workloads."
