  3. You know you have incompetent leaders in the military when they over-simplify 'escalatory' incrementalism. You can project maximum escalation and then calculate sub-escalatory reactions. That gives you markers so you calculate your escalation to a certain point and then you quarantine it and then you re-evaluate. This 'Oh, butta dont wanna be escalatin' nuppin' is a CLEAR sign of STUPIDITY. Escalation is not this perfectly linear succession of reactionary events. There are modes of CALCULUS involved. Has the U.S. military always been this dumb?
