It will give a push in the real estate so those trades people might find new opportunities in construction sector. With increased tax revenue the city will definately invest more into infrastructure projects. The youngest GDR folks will most likely retire before even the completion of the factory itself.

@chalkchalkson5639 I guess 5-7 years. I think that you're right, there must be some form of targeted subsidies for that group of people. In socialist model main value was work and state defined how many workers do they need in each speciality and every worker was paid equally (actually ranging accordingly to their efficacy in their craft). When GDR reunited with FRG economic calculation switched to the market value. All of a sudden people realized that the job market for different types of workers is oversaturated (automatization made it even worse). In market theory that means that there is almost no value in those crafts. There is an assumption that every person always seeks a maximization of their market value regarding their skills and knowledge. In reality though, the older you get the less likely you are to change your way of life or learn a new skill. So basically for liberals redistributing value added by some bussiness using state (or by any other non-market means) is corruption and for socialists redistributing common wealth by unregulated neighbourghood effect of some business is also corruption. There ought to be the right answer.

We even have a great song about "Hudertwasser junta" by one our ukrainian artist. It´s about russian terrorism and Hundertwasserness of the ideas mixed up in their propaganda. I love the punch line: that the end result is clear and it´s tribunal in Haague. Eight years have passed since then, it only got worse, and the process in Haague only now started to work.
