Weird fact: indonesian communist party was created almost a decade earlier than the chinese one. I remember that the war in Kalimantan was mostly lead by communists, and some people from the indonesian side of Borneo still hold their "anti-imperialist" world view against their malaysian neighbours whisch is quite odd to me. East Timor's Fretilin party was a centre-left party, which only later changed it's name for the marxist-leninist fretilin party briefly for few years, after that they decided to go back to the original name to get the support from the catholic church.

Most of the civilians weren't russian, but if you look on the indonesian events very often different ethnic groups had their specific political views as was the case with chinese and some other nationalities. putin have already succesfully got rid of 100 000 russian soldiers and around 300 000 got significant injuries to stop the fight. Not all of them are russian of course, but the majority are. He also killed around a 100 000 ukrainians, mostly civilians. Seems like he's getting there, the million mark, and probably beyond.
