Comments by "D. Castillo" (@d.castillo9495) on "Mitch McConnell hits back at criticism for allowing a SCOTUS vote" video.
Y O J I M B O the Republicans literally changed the rules in 2016 that a Supreme Court Justice shouldn't be selected during an election year.
9
Y O J I M B O In February 2016, Republicans declared that the Senate would not hear or confirm any nominee to fill an unexpected vacancy until the Country had elected a new President in November.
5
Y O J I M B O In an election year, Republicans did a 180° from their previous stance. It's that simple.
2
Mitch 2016 vs Mitch 2020. This guy can't stop arguing against himself.
2
Y O J I M B O even Marco Rubio said in 2016 that he would vote not to select a Supreme Court Justice if the President was Republican.
1
Y O J I M B O That's donald trump's response when he got caught lying to his own supporters at his rallies. Oh, well.
1
Y O J I M B O Now you gave up on defending the current Republican position on how they're arguing against themselves from 2016.

LMG G The Democrat's argument is not against the Constitution, which Republicans argued against in 2016, the argument is against the hypocrisy of Republicans who have taken the Democrat's position from 2016.
1
LMG G That's not the argument. The argument the Republicans had in 2016 was that voters were being cheated if the selection of a Supreme Court Justice happened before the election which was nine months away, then. Now with less than two months, Republicans want to ignore voters. Republicans in 2020 are Democrats from 2016 and now you agree with Democrats from four years ago also. .
1
@U X in 2016, you would've been a Democrat.
1
@U X I knew I would have to explain it. The argument you're defending is the same the Democrat's made in 2016.
1
@U X change your handle to "2016 Democrat" because that's what you are.
1
LMG G The problem with your argument is that in 2016 Republicans made a resolution that no Supreme Court Justice should be chosen during an election year and now they want to go against their own resolution.
1
LMG G The Republican resolution to not select a Supreme Court Justice during an election year is still there.
1
LMG G At least you found out that Republicans are arguing against themselves with their resolution.
1
LMG G In 2016, Marco Rubio said that it didn't matter that there was a Democrat President at the time. He felt that even if there was a Republican President he would vote to not choose a Supreme Court Justice during an election year, so he voted for the resolution.
1
LMG G It's actually a Resolution.
1
@benstr8156 one minor detail, the Republicans are trying to do it after they passed a resolution not to choose a Supreme Court Justice during an election year in 2016, which didn't exist previously. Now they're stuck arguing against themselves with their own resolution.
1
@benstr8156 I just told you Republicans are hypocrites and good for you for agreeing that they are.
