@ez6314 The people doing crime do not get given legal firearms. They acquire them illegally. It isn't the people who are given guns, they are not the problem, as they do not commit gun crimes. If you want to tackle gun crime, let's talk about what to do with gangs and the border.

@floatingleaf9672 If you are not comfortable around guns, why? Are you simply ignorant on how they work? Ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power. Learn how to use a gun responsibly and you can pass that lesson off to your children, teach them to fear something, they will fear it irrationally. You don't need it, but you cannot get rid of something once it has been invented. That's not how the world works. Prohibition has NEVER, ever worked once in history. I'd welcome you to live in a world of reality, instead of that fantasy world where you WISH things were different, but they are not. Deal with it or become obsolete.

@floatingleaf9672 My friends let their kids learn how to use firearms responsibly from the age of 3, or as old as they need to be to hold the weapon properly and understand what they are doing. Not all kids develop at the same rate. 3 year olds can learn to use them without killing anyone, why can't you?

@burny6666 No they didn't reduce homicide rates. How did the long gun registry stop gun violence when no gun violence happens using long guns? I know all about Canada's gun laws. My friends are well armed, and not one of them has ever shot another person.
