  1. I see companies like Apple and Tesla as encouraging blind brand loyalty. There are people that only own Apple products and Tesla with their strange car chargers are almost as bad. If these companies are forced to conform to an industry standard, then they are worried their customers may realise that there are many other companies making products or the same quality for a lower price.
