"This is were it gets complicated". I think that line sums up Doctor Who under Steven Moffat since 2010.

I have a feeling none of this would ever get on the air on US talk shows, or even any US talk show host would every try this. The FCC would censor this 100%. I can't imagine Colbert, Fallon, Kimmel, Meyers etc doing this type of comedy on their shows. Thank God we have Graham Norton.

A little bit of this sketch was improvised by the cast there and then with Andy simply reacting to what they say. They did this in the normal series too where the cast would ad lib and improvise some dialogue. You can see it for example when Andy laughs at 0:50 to Ben's line about Chimps.

Ant and Dec on a BBC talk show, ITV must have let them off the leash for this.

If I had children I would trust Adam 100% more with my children as a baby sitter, than any religious cleric, priest or pastor.

I love the Donegal accent of Bono. His mum in the show is his mum in real life, who is from Letterkenny in County Donegal.

2:31 - My God, she called it a "lounge". Lets look at her in disgusted silent shock for 13 seconds until she comes to her senses.
58
Back in the sixties and seventies it was like that, with Prince Philip not sitting next to her, but rather where Prince Charles was sitting here.

This aired in February 2014, 8 years have passed and a very different Ukraine now
56
To give Cameron credit, when everyone predicted that this coalition would not last a full parliament, Cameron and Clegg proved them wrong. It lasted five years. When you have a coalition, it helps, as one party can rein in the other. One party majority government is dangerous, Tory or Labour.

4.8 million tuned in to Michael's first show. Reviewers were mixed about it, I enjoyed most of it. Hope he maintains the ratings.
53
I wish I had a TARDIS or vortex manipulator, and travel back a decade to May 2010. Anywhere is better than April 2020.
41
Think of the alternative - Lib Dems linked up with Labour to form a minority government, having to rely on the support of smaller parties to keep the Tories out. An impossible task, leading to a government which could fall at any week. Nick Clegg had no choice, a Tory/Lib Dem government was the only option.

1:15 - I know she probably did not know that David's mum had died during the filming of the 2007 Doctor Who Christmas Special, Voyage of the Damned.
31
There has to be a twist to this. If it was Bobby, then Eastenders have ruined their 30th. A 11 year old kid, who has not acted in anyway suspicious during the past ten months! Come on Eastenders, you can do better than that.
30
3:02 - Like a scene from the exorcist.
28
Wow, what a quiet, dignified end. No over dramatics. No explosions. The quietness of Peggy's ending was what made these last few minutes of tonight's episode so powerful. Well done BBC and the Eastenders team. Well Done.
26
Maybe we need a regeneration to get his sight back???

@knightstemplar619 In times before Queen Elizabeth II, monarchs usually sat alone, with their spouse usually seated where Prince Charles is seated. It was only during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II that it changed, but not straight away. In the first decade or so of her reign, Queen Elizabeth sat alone, with Prince Philip to the far right of the throne.
23
Yes, she died during his recording of the 2007 Doctor Who Christmas Special, Voyage of the Damned.

Brendan O'Carroll is like the late great Eric Morecambe when it came to ad libs and poking fun at those who stumbled over their lines. Eric used to never ignore any actor or his partner Ernie Wise when they would stumble over their lines and make a hash of it.
17
The male Victorian clothes just looks beautiful. There is an elegance about them which has been lost in modern clothing styles.
16
+Terry Baldock Milking it, with just two episodes? The last time Nan was on was 4th January 2014. Before that it was her Christmas Carol in 2009. How is four specials during a 6 year period "milking" it?
15
Brendan O'Carroll is a wonderful hard working man. He has spent 20 years in theatre with Mrs Browns Boys and I am so glad he has the success he has now. I have seen it in the theatre many times and it is very funny. Yes it will not be to everyone's taste, but that is comedy, there are so many different styles. I think it is right that there are no more series and apparently it will only return as Christmas Specials, I think if you made more series the show would become less funny and enjoyable.
15
Oh God, can't Eastenders write something not stolen from other programmes. Dr Who had the same concept back in 2008 with Donna Noble. Pathetic. Obvious copy.
14
By the time this was made in 2010 they had lost - David Langton (Richard Bellamy) who died in 1994, Rachel Gurney (Lady Marjorie) who died in 2001, Gordon Jackson (Mr Hudson) who died in 1990, Angela Baddeley (Mrs Bridges) who died in 1976, Patsy Smart (Miss Roberts) who died in 1996, Joan Benham (Lady Prudence) who died in 1981, Raymond Huntley (Sir Geoffrey Dillon) who died in 1990, Gareth Hunt (Fred Norton) who died in 2007. They lost so many of that wonderful original cast.
14
Sandi auditioned to be host of Have I Got News For You in 1990 but Angus Deayton got it, now this is her turn to shine as panel show host.
13
Fantastic trailer! Compare this to US soaps, and boy do UK soaps win hands down all the time! Can't wait!
12
+Keirtheweird You are not forced to watch him. You do have a remote, if you don't like him, turn over. Simple! Let people who do like Michael enjoy his Christmas special.
12
The reaction of the man and woman on the sofa to Brendan's "so have I" suggests there may have been a different line in the script. The man's reaction clearly shows he is reacting to something Brendan did not rehearse, you can sense it in his smile.
11
2:31 - "What a lovely lounge" ---- Oh My God! She called it a "lounge". I just love the instant reaction, of the silence that is as loud as church bells. No one in the upper class calls that room a "lounge".
11
Hi Jake, I get really annoyed with little trolls like Chadam who think they can bully their way through the comments section. Thank you for your reasoned comment.
9
It is rare to see them on any other channel than ITV. I heard of a rumour this might be their last year at ITV, maybe this signals a change?
9
6.8 million watched Mrs Browns Boys last night. Wow!
9
We have been living inside a disaster movie for a year now. Unlike watching these movies in a cinema, we can't leave. This pandemic has to be most extraordinary event we have ever lived through. Even World War 1 and 2, you knew who your enemy was. With this pandemic, it is unseen, and that is the worse thing about lockdown.
9
I love Tom Hanks, he pitched that at the right time at 1:01 - sort of a joke way to tell Timothée stop crawling, you are a huge actor, millions adore you, so stop crawling and get used to being around big stars. Love Tom for that.
9
Yes, some are scripted, some are real though.
8
Sorry, my bad, it is actually New Year's Eve at 6.20pm on BBC One. Hope this helps.
8
1:42 - The atmosphere changes in the room (for the worst)
8
Back in 2010 when Mr Cowell's X Factor and BGT was ruling ITV ratings wise. 7 years later X Factor gets its ass kicked by the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing with usually a 4 or 5 million gap, and BGT doing well for Simon still.
8
+Elmena Saunders Also I think it has to be made very clear, I think Tyger never had one bit of homophobia in him, he was brought up in a very liberal environment with his mum and dad both in the porn industry. I think some people get the wrong idea when Tyger said he first felt insulted when people assumed he was gay. I think he has always thought himself as very straight, not camp and was shocked that people assumed he was gay. I hope people understand the difference.
7
Not really, since 1993 the ITV London Studios have been rented out to other channels and independent productions. Government Act of 1990 relaxed the laws on studios usage. BBC TV Centre was also used by ITV and other channels. Plus Graham Norton's production company So Television was sold to ITV plc.

I hated Christmas 2020 - it was really awful. Social distancing, lock downs, all led to a more sombre Christmas for me, especially not having the large family gathering around. The queen's message was the one uplifting moment for that Christmas. I remember after this speech, going out for a walk, and feeling better.
7
Watching this now in late April 2023, I still can't believe what we went through, especially in 2020 and 2021.
7
It was filmed in front of a live studio audience

Bought five red noses yesterday.

For anyone wanting to know how this trick is done, it is very simple. Before he enters the box, there is already another magician inside, hiding behind the black backdrop. As soon as the front panel was in place, he simply swapped places with the magician. It is that other magician's hands is what we see and not Craig's hands. Craig then slipped away from a section of the stage not seen by the audience, and made his way to the box for his final wave. The magician in the box escaped but the nice part is only his hands are pushed through the black backdrop, the remaining of his body is protected by the black backdrop, and with precise timing he knows when to pull his hands in before the blades reach the box. All the risk is on the magician and not Craig. I have seen this trick done so many times, and this is the answer.
6
Come on BBC, can't you even know the your own running order, and see that this is EPISODE 6 not 5!
6
Rory Bremner is the best at Prince Charles impression - No argument, Culshaw is your Poundland version of an impression.
6
I am glad you enjoyed it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. As a historian, I know a lot about parliament.
