The Late Late Show will end when James leaves. CBS have announced that they do not plan on replacing James, and instead a game show will fill the 12.37am slot called @midnight and will be produced by Stephen Colbert's company. CBS don't want to spend money on a 12.37am talk show anymore. The Late Late Show budget was close to $70 million a year. CBS are looking to set the budget for @midnight at $30 million a year.

How has Comic Relief gone from producing sketches like these, to the complete lacklustre drivel we got for 2023? The hint should be in the name "Comic" Relief. They have stripped all comedy from it, as BBC One now doesn't bother to make sitcoms or comedy shows properly anymore, leaving it to Channel 4 or the streaming services.

@sarawang1257 CBS remembers the time when Craig Ferguson left before Christmas 2014, but they still had to fulfil the late night slot with guest hosts until James was ready to start the following spring. That cost them a lot of money, but also viewers, who switched off when Craig left, as they didn't like the "interim" show using the same studio set, and it cost CBS a lot of money down the drain. I have heard that NBC are unwilling to say whether when Seth leaves Late Night, will that show continue. Now in 2023, with the audience for linear channels so low, it is not commercially viable to continue to make these 12.37am shows anymore. Lucky for NBC they have signed Seth up to host until 2025, but come that point there is no guarantee that show will continue if Seth chooses to leave.
