@robertfrost1683 its noy going to be significant in liberating the country from an invader, say if they took important cities in the USA like DC, New York, L.A. or any economicly important and strategic cities and keeped them the, theres a good chance the United States could collapes politically and economically, tho physically and strategically theyed still be alive and if it does chaos will be everywhere factions in the America fight eachother, America being devide making it easier to take the former country, even with alot of armed civilians they wouldn't damage invader forces significantly but if they just survive and not loose it'll become pointless for them to continue so yes it is possible for American militias to fight an invader but not significantly unless they survive and resort to guerilla warfare and harass them untill they give up
