@Withnail1969 That was the USSR and the Russian Empire. The Russian Federation has never been invaded, Ukraine also isn't trying to take Moscow. You could also look at Russia's history of total collapse after losing wars if you want to invoke pointless history.

Putin just removed Gerasimov and put his old bodyguard, a guy with no military experience in charge in Kursk, if you were curious what the response would be.

@Withnail1969 Russia makes marginal gains taking horrific losses in the process and the Russian cheerleaders rejoice. Ukraine takes more territory than Russia has in a year taking hundreds of prisoners in the process with minimal losses, and the same keyboard warriors are out in full force pretending it's bad for Ukraine.

The information about Russia invading Sumy came from Ukraine to mask its build up for its invasion. This is why Gerasimov didn't take the threat of Ukrainian invasion seriously, he thought they were moving forces there to defend against an attack on Sumy that would never come.
