  1. I'm usually not a fan of Hyundai's external designs. They often appear to be the product of a committee that undertakes a final review of a finished design and add creases and bulges here, there, and everywhere. (Lookin' at you, Palisade.) Even when the overall design is relatively coherent (e.g. the new Sonata) designers add a gimmick like the lighted "lasso" stretching from the sides of the hood around the entire greenhouse. Not in my opinion a decision that will age well. With all that said, however, the Ioniq5 appears to have escaped relatively unscathed. The creases and bulges don't appear to be add-ons but part of an overall coherent design. And unlike some of Hyundai's designs that look like spaceships from a1930's Flash Gordon movie serial, the Ioniq5 has a truly 21st century look. Questions abound, however. The Ionic5 vs the KIA EV6 vs the Mustang-E. It will be interesting to which emerges as the most significant Tesla Model Y rival.
