Like Biden packing the court!!!
10
Democrats want to pack the court. That would turn it into a joke and in effect destroy the judicial branch. The fact that Biden is for such vandalism is a disgrace.
4
Presidents propose and the senate confirms. Right up until they no longer are in office. They have fixed terms in office.
3
@auntiepha8343 you mean the guy nominated when Republicans held the senate?
2
That’s a lie. Try proving he said that. Just like the Charlottesville lie Biden repeats. Disgraceful.
2
@nczioox1116 the important thing is voters decide these things. They voted and this where we are. If you want to be angry then be angry at RBG for not retiring when she should have. Or Harry Reid for getting rid of the filibuster that wreaked the lack of bipartisanship you crave so much now. Your mess not ours. Reap what you sow. If Biden wins and packs the court and destroys the judicial branch I suspect you will blame us for that too.
1
@quantumonions court packing would destroy the court. Biden band democrats want to pack the court. You vote for what you want but know that it has consequences.
1
@nczioox1116 so what? You wanted a judge not a joke hearing where we all knew the outcome. I’m glad they didn’t waste the time.
1
@nczioox1116 history I like. 29 times there has been a vacancy in an election year. 19 when the President was the same party as the senate. Of those 17 were confirmed. 10 times the President was a different party of the senate and then only 2 times were they confirmed. Garland was the norm. That’s history folks.
1
@nczioox1116 I’ve given you the exact historical data for election year vacancies. I guess you only like history when you think you know it. Robert Borks treatment changed everything. His name is now a verb because of how disgracefully democrats treated him. The senate used to work together better I agree but the facts are the facts . Democrats get to nominate and confirm justices when they control the senate and the executive. Republicans the same. If you don’t like it when people don’t vote for you don’t blame the people. Have better ideas.
1
@nczioox1116 I gave you the exact history of every election year vacancy and the outcome. You don’t approve because it disproves your point! As to your objection to garland not getting a vote. You know he didn’t have the votes to pass. Obama knew it. I know it. Everyone in the senate knew it. I’m glad they didn’t waste their time. I wonder if you were just as outraged at the way Kavanaugh was treated? Somehow I doubt it. Garland didn’t get a vote. Kavanaugh was accused of being a serial rapist in front of his children.
1
@nczioox1116 firstly before any vote in either chamber on anything votes are counted by the whips. The outcome is nearly always know beforehand. Garland was never going to be confirmed. arguing over not proving it is like two bald men arguing over a comb. Everyone knew he wasn’t going to get the votes.....except you apparently. As to other examples of the senate voting in a bipartisan manner. So what? Agreements are made, deals are done. There was no agreement or deal to be done with garland. He was DOA.
1
@nczioox1116 Kavanaugh is relevant. Garland didn’t get a vote he was not going to pass. You are outraged! Kavanaugh was accused of being a serial rapist in front of his children and you dismiss it. Selective outrage highlights not only your defective moral compass but also your hypocrisy. If the roles were reversed would democrats do anything different?
1
@nczioox1116 the wrong judge? You mean democrat activist judges. No left wing nominee would have passed. You are making it up. Close to an election democrats in control of the senate would have done the exact same thing. In fact as I’ve pointed out historically that’s a given. If you think you can convince anyone democrats wouldn’t have done the same thing I’ve a bridge for sale.
1
@nczioox1116 bipartisanship isn’t a given. You can’t cite it for one instance and expect it the next. Every situation is different. You certainly can’t apply your own standard to democrats! It’s an absurd comparison. Democrats smeared Thomas!!!! That’s the best example you have? Another example of a disgraceful hit job!
1
@nczioox1116 packing the court makes it meaningless.
1
@nczioox1116 Kennedy? The guy that replaced Bork! Bork was viciously attacked and you cite Kennedy! Are you aware of all the terrible history of democrats and SCOTUS nominees? Or willfully blind?
1
@nczioox1116 the voters have decided. Republican President. Republican senate. Nothing unconstitutional about it whatsoever. They are voted in for their whole term not half or three quarters. Democrats would do exactly the same thing. We both know it. ;-) Again be upset with RBG.
1
@nczioox1116 court packing. Another institution destroyed by democrats.
1
@nczioox1116 if would destroy the court. But yes it’s not stipulated at 9 in the constitution. Just been at 9 for 150 years!
1
@nczioox1116 you got there in the end.
1
@nczioox1116 only Biden is going to pack the court.
1
@nczioox1116 court packing then. Just abolish it if you are going to make it meaningless.
1
@adrianwillis66 that means what exactly? Are you against packing the court?
1
@Godric_71 so you are for packing the court. Why bother!....just abolish it.
1
@quantumonions packing the court means more than 9. Filling a vacancy isn’t packing the court. If you are upset by imbalances then are you upset by the liberal imbalance that gave us Roe v Wade in 73?
1
@quantumonions Biden’s old position on FDR court packing “But it was a bonehead idea. It was a terrible, terrible mistake to make, and it put in question, for an entire decade, the independence of the most significant body—including the Congress in my view—the most significant body in this country, the Supreme Court of the United States of America.”
1
@quantumonions it’s green 9 for 150 years any number over 9 is packing the court. All democrats said as much until two weeks ago please don’t pretend that we can’t do an internet search ;-)
1
@quantumonions great argument. The guy that will pack the court if he wins has nothing to do with the court packing debate. I understand.
1
@nczioox1116 Obama was President and the senate was republican for Garland. Trump was President with a republican senate for Kavanaugh. Apples and oranges dude.
