  1. The Ukrainians used “Shock and Awe” attack on the Russian trench line. They used fast moving wheeled Humvees, instead of tracked APCs or IFVs, to quickly cover open ground quicker right up to the Russian trench line without having any preparatory mortar or artillery fire to suppress the Russian fire in the open field and warn them of an attack.

  2.  @willthorson4543  Using lightly armored Humvees driving across an open field to an entrench enemy is more than an assault. An assault would have been firing mortar and artillery to keep the enemy heads down in the trenches as you brought dismounted troops.
